Overall good sound and and quality for price. Sounds is awesome. Water proof as advertised and floats but does not work when floating. Pull it out of the water and goes right back to being a bad a$$ speaker. I'm happy just wish that something advertised as floating could still function floating.
There are no decent reviews of this thing so I thought I would shed some light on this device from an experienced audio engineer.
I bought it for less than $30 and for that I think it's a very good value but there are some caveats -
First, if you're using this to play from your phone or tablet use an EQ! Like almost all speakers this little speaker will break in a little bit over time and provide better bass which is initially quite shallow. So let it run for a good 10-20 hours before you pass final judgement. But even still this thing is VERY heavy in the midrange. So use the EQ to cut the mids...around 1-2k. Boost the low bass (100hz) a little and add to the very top a good amount so the eq curve looks a bit like a crooked smiley face.
Once you break it and play around with the EQ - WOW - sounds really pretty good. Especially for the price. It fills the space nicely, doesn't distort too much (but don't go crazy and be restrained in how hard you drive it). I don't know yet how well the battery will hold up, but my advice is to avoid strong chargers. Stick to 1A like the charger which is included.
Connection was easy. Range is more like 20' not 30'. It's overall quite loud but sounds best being moderately driven with the EQ tweaks. I wish there were some technical details about the battery and wattage but it's a cheap fun thing that is, in my view, worth it's small cost.
