Will the unit sanitize while the case top is open?

No. If the case top is opened manually or accidentally while the case is sanitizing, the UV LEDs will power off to avoid direct contact with skin or eyes.

Note: In order to avoid direct contact with skin or eyes, the case must be closed in order for the UV LEDs to power on.
